The Spring/Summer 19 runway shows were filled to the rafters with exciting jewelry trends to embrace this hot weather season. We’ve handpicked the most versatile trends that you can easily pull into your existing closet and accessories collection. This season’s trends are jam packed with everything from the return of the shell necklace to the most on trend place to get pierced but just as it’s in with the new, it’s out with the old. Charms and shells might be in but facial jewelry, name necklaces and birthstones are definitely out!
Ear Cuffs

Ear cuffs have been on the rise for a while now and finally we think they might have reached their peak. This summer, ear cuffs are coming in larger than life and also their opposite in the form of minimalist design. Some of our favorites styles include XXL oversized silhouettes and armor-eque pieces with serious structure. Colored jewelry is also having a moment right now so feel free to blend the two trends together and opt for some colorful cuffs instead of your go-to metal.
We love ear cuffs as they can be as elaborate or as discreet as you like and this Summer round, we’re in luck as both styles are right on trend. You can work ear cuffs into part of your evening look, for toughening up even the daintiest and feminine of gowns or even as part of your daywear. Even better, most styles don’t even require you to have a piercing in order to wear them so they’re perfect for un-pierced ears.
Heavy Hoops

Hoops are in and they’re thicker and heavier than ever. If your hoops don’t look like they weigh a ton, give them a miss this Summer as it’s all about the heavy weights this season. In particular, crescent moon shaped hoops are some of the hottest styles and if you decide to invest in a new pair, you’ll still be able to wear them in future seasons thanks to their timeless style. Whether you prefer Silver, Gold or Rose Gold, all metal finishes work fabulously with hoops, just be sure to tie your hair back or tuck it behind your ears so you get the full effect of their iconic shape.
Layered Necklaces

The trick to the layered necklace trend is not to be too neat about it. Keep it messy and don’t be afraid to mix different styles of necklaces with their complete opposite in style. Do be sure to choose varying lengths to create the most dramatic look. All styles from vintage pieces to ultra modern enamel necklaces are all great styles to use in building your layered necklace look. Stick to chunky necklaces for a more playful, funky vibe or opt for finer jewelry for a more refined and sophisticated look.
Sea Shells

Sea Shells are everything this Summer! If you’re anything like us, you buy a shell necklace every year on the annual beach vacay so you’re bound to already have a stack of them hidden somewhere. These shell pieces are giving off all sorts of beachy, holiday vibes, calling us all towards the sun, sea and sand. Shells are also moving into other jewelry pieces, not just necklaces. Single shell earrings that are worn as a hoop or a drop earring are also a really fun trend to try out, something a little different that we really haven’t seen much of before. If this is all feeling just a little be too beach babe for your taste, many designers have opted for a more grown up approach to shell jewelry. Check out the styles that are mixing delicate pearls with ornate shells and bringing in some metallic elements such as a gold finish or set onto semi precious metal bands.
Charm Bracelets

Old school charm bracelets are making a come back too this Summer. Forget collecting charms over the years like the Pandora/Thomas Sabo era, this is about pre-designed charm bracelets that are plentiful of charms and ready to be worn immediately.
High Lobe Studs

It’s here, the piercing of the year is the high lobe! Unfortunately, if you want to embrace this trend you’ll have to brave the needle and get the piercing first but we think it might just be worth it! There’s something really sweet and minimalist about this twist on the center lobe stud and it looks super chic when accented by other studs. Play around by wearing a stud in the high lobe and a drop earring in the center lobe or mix and matching metals.
Fancy Feet

Jewelry is going lower and lower on the body, all the way down to our ankles and toes in fact. Dressing up your feet and adorning them with anklets, toe rings and bare foot sandals is the perfect trend for Summer when our feet are usually exposed more anyway. Keep the jewelry delicate, it’s less beach vibes for this trend and more expensive richness that’s driving this trend. As far as toe rings go, people are divided on whether toes actually deserve to have rings but we think go for it! Just be sure to get a comfortable one otherwise you might find them to be awkward to walk in.
